Explore halloween window painting templates with the ideas below. Want a Halloween window with a little more personality than a single stick-on shape? This free set gives you three designs to trace: a crescent moon with bats, a pumpkin vine, and a ghost with stars. Use one on a small pane or arrange all three across a larger window.
The download is a four-page US Letter PDF. Page one shows the designs together in color; the next three pages are black-and-white tracing guides with bold outlines. You can see the actual file below before printing.

Halloween Window Painting Templates: What is in the printable?
- Moon & bats: a crescent and flying bats for the upper part of a window.
- Pumpkin vine: a pumpkin with a winding vine that can anchor the lower edge of an arrangement.
- Ghost & stars: a friendly ghost with small stars for a second pane or open space.
Each design has its own tracing page, so you can print only the pages you want. The one-inch check square on each tracing page helps you confirm the print scale.

How to use the tracing pages
- Plan the placement. Look at the window from the room and decide where each design will sit. Leave enough open glass around the outlines to keep the shapes readable.
- Print at Actual Size. In the print dialog, choose Actual Size or 100% instead of Fit to Page. Measure the printed one-inch square before you start.
- Choose a window-safe medium. Follow the manufacturer’s directions for your glass and the medium you choose. Test it on a small area first, including how it removes.
- Trace a design. Position the printed page behind the glass so you can see its bold outlines from the side you will decorate. Hold or secure the page temporarily, then trace the visible lines according to your medium’s instructions.
- Add the other designs if you like. Step back between motifs to check the spacing. Let the medium dry and remove it according to its label.
These pages are tracing guides, not cut-through stencils. The PDF does not include a tested paint method or instructions for a particular window finish.

Before you print
The file is sized for US Letter paper (8.5 × 11 inches). Print a single tracing page first and check its one-inch square; if the measurement is off, change the printer scaling and try again. The color overview is for planning, while the black-and-white pages provide the outlines to trace.
The styled window images show possible arrangements and are concept illustrations, not photographs of a finished or tested project. The printable preview shows the actual download.
